Facilities Solution Study Session

On Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 6:30pm in the LASD Board Room the Board will meet for a study session to only discuss Facilities Solutions.  The agenda and supporting documentation can be found here. This is a discussion item and there will be no decision made at this meeting.  In February the Board directed the staff to ween down the list of solutions we are considering from 13 to 6 possible solutions: 

1. Allocating space for BCS only at the 10th site
   
2. Allocating space for BCS split between the 10th site and Egan
   
3. Allocating space for BCS only at Egan; Relocating the Egan program to the 10th site
   
4. Allocating space for BCS only at Egan; Closing Covington and relocating Egan to Covington; Creating a new LASD elementary at 10th site
   
5. Allocating space for BCS only at Covington; Closing Covington; Creating a new LASD elementary at 10th site
   
6. Allocating space for BCS only at an existing LASD elementary; Relocating the affected elementary to share Egan or Blach; Creating an additional new LASD elementary school at 10th site

The Board also directed staff to analyze the following for those 6 scenarios:

1. Operating and capital expenses
   
2. Projected campus enrollment numbers
   
3. Expected implementation timeline
   
4. Impacts on long term viability of LASD
   
5. BCS & LASD enrollment data, current and projected
   
6. Demographic information/projections for new/existing schools
