First up, Jeff Baier will give the Board a Report on Opening School and the LASD+ Program. This is a discussion item and Jeff's presentation can be found under agenda item H.1. The presentation focuses on the creation of the LASD+ program. LASD+ is an extension of LASD's regular program aimed at supporting students who are high risk for poor learning outcomes. Furthermore, as of September 28, 2020, LASD campuses started welcoming Special Education students in person. On Monday, October 12, 2020, we welcome TK-1st grade students in the blended format on campus (with half the population of our blended population showing up to campuses on Monday and Tuesday and the other half showing up on Thursdays and Fridays). Each and every elementary school principal, teacher, and staff member have been preparing for our students' safe return to campus. Community's members cooperation with the LASD Community Expectations for Healthy Schools we will go a long way toward opening our schools safely and keeping them open. Next, Jeff will present the most recent Memorandum of Understanding with Los Altos Teachers Association. This is an action item and the MOU can be found under agenda item H.2. The latest MOU has more contract modifications to memorialize agreements between LASD and the teachers regarding preparation days needed before going back to school in person in blended format. Then, Randy will present for the Board's approval a parent representative to the Measure N Citizens Oversight Committee (Bond Oversight Committee). This is an action item and the nominee's application can be found under agenda item H.3. To close us up, Randy will present the Sharing of the Parcel Tax Proceeds with Bullis Charter School. This is an action item and BCS's report is under agenda item H.4. BCS is required under Exhibit B of the Measure GG parcel tax measure to annually provide a report showing how its portion of the parcel tax proceeds were expended. The report shows that they entirety of the proceeds they received were spent on teachers' salaries. Please note, these are just the highlights of what to expect at our 10/12/2020 meeting.
